Can't call up AC III on computer

I have seen a few posts on this but the solutions don't seem to be working for me.

I have an AC III connected through an ethernet connection to a Microsoft (I know, I know) Base Station/router. I configured the AC III with an IP address of 192.168.2.25, my subnet is the ususal (255.255.255.0) and the gateway/dns are 192.168.2.1
These all came from the LAN when I ran ipconfig. The IP for the AC III has to be between 2.0 and 2.254 so I just chose a random number that is differnt from my laptop and desktop. This should be right, I think.

I have both my desktop and and wireless laptop going through this router with no difficulty.

I must be missing something here. The log on the base station does say that something is attempting to access the WAN but is being blocked. I can't tell if this is the AC III or an outside atttempt.

Any help would be appreciated.:)

I am no expert with LAN/WAN put have done some things. I have found that many programs these days try to protect us by blocking ports. Maybe it is a port issue and you need to look at your security programs like Nortan, McAfee, and others you use. Open up the port and it should work.

Also, try the device swap method of debugging. take the device that don't work off, and put a computer in its places with the same address. Then work out the connection issues. It is sometimes easier when you have a real computer on both ends, to see what is wrong.

Good luck, Kevin

Thanks everyone for the advice.

Using the IP address as cali reef suggested is what worked. I imagine I'll still be talking with Curt over the weeks.

Sweet!!
