I have been calling them Ring of Fire and Dragon eyes. I have been calling them this because people told me that is what they where. Well, When I look on zoaid.com they dont show either one. What are they. Should I submit them?

This is the best close picture I can get. My cam will not focus when I zoom that close.

You have a good point and I will make an effort to check this thread in the future. You have a nice bunch of Vietnamese or Indo zoos IMHO- and if they look like that now then you are doing well. I would keep them under higher light and good luck--

Do you really care what their sudo name is or do you want to know how to care for them and keep their color?

Well, I have had the ring of fire (red) for 2 + years. and the Green ones for a year or so. I have around 2 thousand red ones and 300+ Green.

I would like to know the care tips .
What does Sudo stand for?
I want to know what they are really called because people ask me all the time. I don't like telling them what I think they are. I want to tell them what they really are.
So any information you have on them I would love to know.
Thanks

greenbay packers.

Have a link so I can compare?

Is zoaid.com like a national standard for the names or just a bunch of people making up names?

To be quite honest all is a shot in the dark depending on light and nutrients in the water. Most zoas will change in a different environment. I forgot to type in the "p" sorry about that and good luck!

I would like to see a picture of the polyps after they have settled in your tank as it might help out other zoa keepers with their own problems.

Nice looking polyps!

I posted up abit further and said I have had them for maybe a bit over a year. I only had 3 or 4 now I have 300+. They looked like crap when I first got them. As you can see they look amazing now.

So about that Sudo word. What does that mean? Also about the care tips?

Pseudo- I left out the P & e--quick typing or bad spell check??

Names are names and they will be different with any tank and that is what makes zoos different from most corals as they can have a slight/big difference in each tank.

I only inquired for a picture as your pics are labeled 11-17-2007.

You still have some very nice polyps-good luck

That particular strain is very variable. I had a rock of them that I split into five pieces kept 4 in differing areas of the tank and gave one away. They have morphed into diffrent colors altogether- and with a lighting change they will morph again! One clump is brown tents with orangy centers, one is red tents with bluish green centers, one is like the green bay packers style you show, and one is brown tents with packer centers. The friends clump under lots of PC lights look for all intents and purpouses like fire and ice.

I don`t know about rarity- and i cant tell anything about the red ones from the picture. I can say the greens that morphed red had that color tenticles- but much greener bluer centers. If i was to guess one of the two rare- it would be the red.
