what different color cap corals do people have??

if/when i get this lil tank i have laying around setup, i think i might want to do a cap on or near the sandbed.....

sweet...was thinking maybe red or purple. doubt i'd have room for both, so tough choice :(

wonder what color would "pop" best under actinics?

Orange (red) would be best under actinics!

yeah the green brain coral really looked great under the actinics....great, now i have to decide between 3 colors
LOL

maybe i can take red, purple & green frags & glue them all to a frag plug & let it do what it do

You could do that! But I watched the green one grow over the orange one to kill it in a very short period.

My red/orange cap looked really good under actinics.

Have you seen the tank of the month with the different pieces glued to a plug? halfway down: http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2009-01/totm/index.php

I saw that... But like I've said, I watch my green one grow right over the orange one ended up killing off the orange one. My orange really looks good under actinics too but the green ones really glows.

I did that with my Purple and Red cap. I had 2 small frags and mounted them to the same plug. They meet in the center, but it is half and half. I think it looks cool with a yin & yang feel. I have a huge brown cap also. Not many people like brown though.

Anthony, Put that brown Cap up higher In your tank and you just may be surprised, You may have a Jewel In disguise. Sometimes with enough light you may bring out It's true color, I had a brown cap that turned out to be Olive green with purple rim after It got healthy! You never know...

This is the huge brown cap that was in Rhett's tank. I got a few brown acro's and a brown digitata from him. That is a good thought though. You never know if they will color up under the right light. Thanks bill.

By the way, I have your light, I just need to make it out your way again.

Yep... I'd also vote for purple rimmed green caps. And I just happen to have one... ;)

Brandon

well if/when i get this AIO setup, i might have to get ya to "break me off a piece of that kit kat bar"

:) LOL

I think mine are purple rimmed green caps. That's how it looks, but with that actinic it's hard to tell...lol

haha, we were both posting at the same time, so I didn't see yours. That stinks that it doesn't always work, but I guess it's not too surprising.

Anthony, That Is great as I think I may remake my canopy soon and bring It closer to the tank. That is the lights closer as I have some SPS that require Intense light to keep their true colors. I may just change the whole look of my stand and canopy as much as I can without tearing It down and starting over! More to come as I think It through....
