Capnella , Kenya Tree Problem

I had gotten some live rock from a fellow hobbiest afew months back and it had a pieve of Kenya tree on it since then it has dropped about 8 buds which have been growing. Question is I had planned on using this tank for a dedicated SPS tank. How do you remove the capnella from the rock after it becomes attached?
I'm afraid that at the rate it multiplying it will dominate the tank, is their any chance of that or should I just ignore it and it will settle down.

I don't know how many sps you have but if you really want to remove it just pull it off the rock simply. I have tons of them but they don't bother me. Put it in your refugium. They love nutrients and I would assume you have plenty if it's budding.

When you say simply pull it off the rock wouldn't that kill it, Iwould like to put it in refuge like you suggested. And wouldn't that leave behind tissue which will breakdown and create water chemistery problems. If pulled do they come off easily?

They pull off easily and usually all the tissue comes with it. Its a bionic coral so you can pretty much do what you want to it and it wont kill it :)

That stuff is indestructable. Rip it off the rock and put it in your fuge with some rubble for it to attach to. Then in a couple weeks you'll have new trees in your display where you pulled it from to remove and do the same with. You cant kill that stuff.

Thanks for the information. I'll pull it off and put it in the fuge. I like the way it looks and its always good to have success with something in this hobby.
