Captive bred G. Personatus in a reef tank

Really amazing.

Karen and Rufus are doing wonders for this hobby, I can't wait for some of these fish to be a bit more accessible from breeding efforts.

Any update on this??? I've been out of the hobby for years but I remember you always having wonderful fish. This is an amazing thread and I can't believe they bred GPs.

Hey there, Here are a couple of pics I snapped a few weeks ago. My 2 larger GP's finally have some yellow on their pelvic fins.

The yellow is even more pronounced now. Hopefully, it won't be long for the rest of the adult coloration to fill in. And I agree, it was an amazing feat by Karen and Rufus.

Thanks Ted. I'll take one on Sunday when I get back home. The 2 bigger ones actually have noticeable more yellow on their pelvic find since I take the pics above.

Hey everyone, I wish I could change this thread title to 'Captive Bred Personatus AND Bandits in a Reef Tank!'

The bandits with the personatus look so freaking cool together! They've all grown so much. Just awesome!

Thanks guys! Here's a short video I just shot. PLEASE DO NOT LOOK AT ALL THE MACRO ALGAE in my tank. I've been losing that battle :( I've been crazy busy this summer and it's hard keep my reef tank chemistry in check. Feeding very heavily doesn't help either. My fish seem happy and the corals are growing so I can't really complain!

Amazing Wayne. Absolutely breathtaking!

I'd like to know more about the Choati Wrasse you have in there, do you have a separate thread for that bad boy as well?

Thank you! No separate thread for the Choati although the it definitely deserves one. I got him at la dd. I've must of tried a dozen times myself but I figured when I saw them on la dd, I'd have a better shot. And I did! It made it through ttm and two rounds of prazi. 8 months later, it's still thriving!

wayne, they all look so wonderful! lol, makes be sad that I passed on the bandits...I am going to post a pic of my 2 new gp in my thread...lol, you should get some too! great update, hope all is well, let's catch up soon...tk

Hey everyone,

So one of my GP's have finally developed male terminal colors! It's taken over 3 years for me but finally! Oh and ironically, it was the medium one of my trio of GP's that changed over to a male. I guess he got too tired of waiting for the largest one to change over.

I was hoping to get a pic of his dorsal fin fully spread out but he wasn't cooperating with my camera. Right before the change, he kept flashing his gray, dark body colors for about a week. I was kind of worried for him because I didn't know what was going on, if he was stressed or being picked on by the larger GP. But alas, he finally developed the blonde colors. Now he frequently flashes his gray, dark body colors to exert his dominance.

Here is a pic of his beautiful lady:

And the biggest one, whom I thought was the dominant one, but I was wrong:

And finally a group shot:
