Captive Reared?

Captive reared means they were captured as juveniles in the wild and raised in captivity. Captive bred means the whole life cycle has been in captivity. Tank-raised is vague and can cover either captive reared or captive bred, but usually means captive bred (which is the case here).

What are the benefits to a captive reared fish over a wild caught fish? Is there any benefit to the fish or is it just the benefit having it become acclimated to the tank easier and quicker? Is it caught any more humanely, etc?

The collection methods are usually no better for the fish or the reefs. It mostly just means that you're getting a fish that's established in captivity so disease tends to be less of an issue and you don't have a fish that's just been bounced all around the world for 2 weeks.
