carbon and bubles

Is it normal to get bubles in the sump when you change your carbon?

Two Little Fishies Hydrocarbon 2 Granulated Activated Carbon.

Did you rinse it first? Carbon sometimes bubbles a lot when first rinsed, releasing trapped air.

I did rinse it before I put it on the phosban reactor.
