Carbon Dosing supplement?

Hey, I finished making my DIY automatic nitrate reactor but I am debating what to feed ( carbon dose ) the reactors bacteria. People seem to use vodka but is there something better and more reliable to use.
Also could you give me a dosing regimen/how much should I dose per day?

Look into vinegar instead.

vinegar seems to have become a little more popular but I prefer vodka its cheap and you dose a lot less... I forget the ratio but its like for every 1ml of vodka you have to dose 5ml of vinegar or something like that...

Correct, but it certainly avoids cyano outbreaks better. It also lowers pH a bit when dosing Kalk. There seems to be more leeway with vinegar vs. vodka.

Vitamin C doesn't seem very well regarded in the Chemistry subforum. What is the point of trying something different in this particular case???

I guess trying something different was a bad thing to say , have people had success with reef biofuel?
