Carbon during cycle?

I've had a carbon bag in my sump since it started cycling a week and a day ago. I've been readying about it being counter productive during the cycling process, should I just take it out?

It's not counter productive, as it absorbs neither ammonia nor nitrite. If it makes your tank look and smell better, keep it in.

It is just more surface area for beneficial bacteria. Leave it in.

i have always had carbon in any tank i have ever owned from the moment it was set up. it doesnt hurt anything to have it in there.
