Carbon placement?

If you could only choose one scenario (for now) would you rather put your carbon in a reactor with phosguard or in a media bag by itself in front of the skimmer out-flow? Can't make up my mind about what I want to do until I get a second reactor. I know they're relatively cheap but I've put a freeze on spending for the time being... :uhoh2:

Would there be anything wrong with rinsing the carbon and phosguard together at the same time?

I would put them together in reactor,carbon first on the bottom ,then phosguard.

From my limited knowledge on the subject the better flow you get through the carbon the more effective it's going to be. The more effective it is, IMO, the more economical it is in the long run. So I would (and have) choose the reactor. But after reading many posts on it (after purchasing) I still haven't fired of up yet and probably won't until something in my tank goes funny and I need to filter something specific out. If money is tight, a bag of carbon in the flow may be enough for your circumstances and you can upgrade when you've saved a bit.
