How is everyone using carbon in their tanks?

Just dropping a bag in? Or do you run it through a filter?

if so - what device are you running it through?

I use a media reactor for the carbon. Carbon will be more effective if water run thru it.

I just use a bag. I place it in one of the baffles between compartments in the sump, I don't know if it has any benefit or not but I'm currently looking into purchasing a reactor.

I have a bag of carbon where my AquaC skimmer relieves itself.

I have 2 phosban reactors (just dave's picture) daisy chained. 1st one has carbon, 2nd one has phoshate media. Some people use both media in one reactor separated by a sponge disk.

Doesn't activated carbon adsorb everything, including good things like iodine, calcium, and trace elements?

Anyway, those reactors are way cool. They're also relatively cheap as far as reefkeeping accessories go.
