Ok guys this has gone on entirely too long, so lets get this issue resolved. I want to see this club continue and I can tell that several others wants it to as well. As I stated in the last meeting I attended just before officers were elected, the only way this will work is if we set a certain weekend out of every month and hold the meetings regardless if anyone shows up. It can be at a restaurant, home, business, or meeting space somewhere, it doesn't have to be an LFS however that is a benefit to the LFS who support us and we should try to rotate through them. But regardless its going to have to be scheduled on a certain weekend every month. This makes it a little easier for folks to schedule ahead and make sure they don't put things on their schedule for that weekend.

I don't want to overstep anyone but I don't want this club to fall apart either. So I vote the second saturday of every month starting with the August 11th 2007 saturday. The only exception to this rule is if that saturday falls on a holiday the very next saturday will be the meeting day. Just say yes or no, yay or nay, yep or nope, yah or naw, its that easy. Then we can get the officers to find us a spot, or if they are busy I will volunteer to call a spot. I know the August will be short notice and not many will show up but it should help out for all the others.

I also want to pass along that I had paid out of my pocket for our domain names and the server hosting for one year. The time is approaching for renewal, I got a 90 day notification that it would expire. So we have three months to get this on its feet and collect dues and pay next years service, I would rather not pay out of my pocket again. I know that everyone is busy and one of the reasons I pulled out of the officers running. Again I am sorry if I am stepping on toes here but we need to get this club back on its feet.

We also need to schedule a fall and/or spring frag swap (both would be great and would take up two meetings a year for both clubs) with the great folks up at NARC. They have agreed to a joint meeting, we just need to get with them and schedule it. Again we are running out of time to schedule this for the fall but its still possible to maybe get the october meeting to be a joint venture.

i agree on having it on the second Saturday of the month. and it wont be too long before i get my new house cleaned up enuf to be able to host a meeting at my place. and also i will have to say that not a thing died during the move.
 
Only problem with the tuesday or thursday evening meetings is that we are so spread out. And I know that alot of us don't get off till after 4 and home until 4:30 by the time we drive to the meeting which may be here, Tuscaloosa, or Birmingham, it could take an hour to an hour and a half to get there. Depending on where the meeting is. But I agree its a thought and if tuesday or thursday evening is a big request then I am all for it. What ever can get the most people at the meetings.
 
I would love to do this on a set Saturday each month.
However, if you start on August 11, we will miss out on the Chatanooga Frag swap.
Should we consider August 11th a holiday because of the swap?
That said: I'm up for anything at anytime, so just let me know !!
 
This won't be popular for a few I am sure but I would say hold the meeting as schedule mainly because it helps maintain that schedule and most folks probably won't make that trip to Chatanooga. However another side of me says that the bigger regional and national meets are scheduled far enough out that the schedule could be set several months in advance. But my answer would be hold it on the set date except for national holidays.
 
I agree with Allen. We need to pick a day for the meetings and leave it like that. That way, instead of having a thread that starts out, "hey, are we having a meeting?" it would start out more like, "This months meeting is going to be at... on the(date) at(place) chime in if you will be there so we can get a head count..." Also should make it much easier to set up a meeting with one of our LFS or other hosts in advance, instead of scrambling around trying to find a place with only 2 weeks notice.

Allen, who's running the website since Iconz moved? Maybe we could set up a poll to vote on which Sat. of the month to designate for meetings. Or if Phillip got enough responses to his email he sent right after elections, I think what day/time was one of his questions. Either way, we need to come up with something before this club falls apart.
