Cardinal Vs. Wrasse

So yeah... My Bangai ate my Cleaner Wrasse today... Made me sad... Thought I'd share... I knew they could eat good sized fish... But the dang cleaner wrasse was as long as it was... And I've had a Rainford Gobie in there with it for a while thats smaller than the CW... Oh well... The CW was nice for the few weeks I had it... I'll try and post a pic... Right now my computer is being retarted...

Ok... Got it uploaded... If you look close you can see the tail of the CW hanging out of the Bangai's mouth...

That sucks! How long was the cleaner? s long as the cardinal to the tip of hi tail? I knew banggai's had big mouths but I had no idea they would eat something as long as them. I'm fixing to put a dot and dash flasher in my 120 from QT and I have a banggai and you have me rethinking that plan

The CW was at least 2"... I'm thinking closer to 2 1/2"... It may have been a bit short of the tip of the Bangai's tail, but not by much... I don't know how he got as much of the CW down as he did... But he does have quite a bulge in the belly now... Grrr... Oh but like I said, I've had a smaller rainford in there with him for at least 8 or 9 months without incedent...

I wonder if the cleaner was trying to clean and the cardinal, being from a very limited range, didn't recognize what he was trying to do? Anyway that stinks. I have had a pair of Fridmani's in with mine for years...but of course those guys aren't pushovers.

Nah... The ones I got from you are still too small to eat something that size... Though they've grown up quite a bit and are doing nicely... They're probaly close to 2" where as the CW eater is closer to about 3"... About the size of your mated pair was...

Probably not for quite a while at this point...too much stuff going on. I'll likely be heading down to Cincy come October though if I have tanks set up.
