Cardinalfish in groups - does it work?

I know people often buy threadfin cardinals etc. in groups. And like chromis, they sometimes end up with one or a bonded pair. Is it possible to keep cardinals in a group?

I know pajama cards and banggai cards will pick each other off. Not so sure about Apogon spp. like the glass cardinals on Diver's Den.

They will pair off. In a large tank, you may have multiple pairs, in a small tank, probably only one pair.

There are 3 stop light cardinals on Divers Den now. I wonder if they are safe towards each other longterm.

I have 2 Bengaii and 3 pajama in my 30" long 65 gallon. One Bengaii periodically looks like he got mugged, but they coexist nicely. I don't know which fish picks on that one Cardinal. I've never seen any of the Cardinals squabble

I've got 7 of my original 9 Red Spot Glass Cardinals still. It's been 6+ months that they've all been together. I think they're full size, so they should have paired off by now if they were going to I would think. I occasionally see a couple of them off by themselves but no aggression whatsoever.

It's kinda funny to watch my Wrasse intentionally dive into the group of them to scatter them a bit.

Yes, Red Spot Glass Cardinals work very well and actually shoal.

I have 3 pajama cardinalfish in my 340 and they get along great. 2 are paired up and one is a little smaller. They do stay together pretty well and they don't seem to fight at all.
