What kind of care would be needed for sea urchins? Water params, food, and etc? Stuff like that.

I have a long spine black sea urchin. I do not do anything different for it. It eats the same stuff as the cleanup crew. Good indicator of water quality. If spines are up all good, if not you need to start checking. Only really saw this when the tank temp dropped after a power outage. When the tank warmed back up all was good. IMO very easy to keep.

So they'll basically scavenge food off the floor or rocks? No need for plankton?

Mine leaves a white trail where ever he goes on the rocks as he eats.
