Caribsea sand

I prefer the CaribSea Seaflor Special Grade Reef Sand. The small sugar-like sand can blow around a lot if you have to have high flow in the tank for corals.

I'm probably the black sheep. I use the oolite because I like the look it gives. It definitely blows around a little easier, but if your careful, it's not much of a problem, IME. The fiji pink is also similar to the oolite, but it has some slightly larger pieces mixed in as well.

I too have always used the very fine oolite,etc... in my tanks..
But the blowing around is an issue now that I'm trying to keep higher flows for SPS and have a smaller 40b tank now..
Going forward I will go with the special grade as I purchased some for the wifes nano tank and I really like it and it certainly does not blow around as easily as the sugar stuff..
