Carlson Surge Device Review

I have been running the CSD for about 9 months now and am just as happy with it as the day I put it in. I have had no problems with it and have had no up keep of any kind either. I built three of them out of IO salt buckets with 2 " piping and bulk heads in the bottom of each. total cost was about $10 for each one. My fish love it and changed as soon as it was turned on. They are far less freaked out and act far more naturally than ever before. here is a close up video for the prototype water motion http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_FfSKHTySVw

and here it the final version that have been in service for the past 9 months. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRf4F76_pBQ

only draw back is the noise it creates.. other wise, two very big thumbs up from me on how it works.

They pulse randomly every 40 seconds or so and push water 7 feet into my overflow and do cause motion on my corals that far away as well.

Anyhoo just thought it was worth sharing success for those of you considering building one.

Glad to hear this is working out for you Ron. Do you think that the IO buckets will be ok long term? Are you filling the buckets from the top?
