Just playing with the camea today, but caught my wrasse all finned out!

Possibly you have a male/female (McCoskers) wrasse. However you almost certainly do not have a mated pair. You possibly have a bonded pair, but that too is unlikely. Your LFS seems a bit prone to exaggeration.

Well i don't know much about this stuff yet, I do know the McCoskers one is fancy (all the fin thing (male?)) and one is plain. They do hang out all the time. Sometimes chasing each other around the tank sometimes. Mostly it been the male ( the fancy one?) chasing the female, but today for the first time i watch the female chasing the male around...lol who knows?

If you have a male and female, the male should display (flash) for her. They may become a bonded pair, and once that happens may mate under the right circumstances. Generally if you have a lighting system that simulates sunset, you can evoke mating behavior. It also would help if you are feeding live blackworms. I love flasher wrasses!
 
I know they both bed down for the night in different areas, if that is the right term, I found where the male goes at night, in a rock that has hole he goes in with his head facing down. i can't find where the female goes.

From the photos you've posted of them, those were Carpenter's. The biggest differences are they have more lines in the body and more filaments than McCosker's. I meant to say that in the thread with the photos but the forums went down for the night.
 
Ugh LukFox, really? Sheesh. I don't even know who to ask anymore, everyone tells me something different! I'll just start calling them flashers & leave it at that! :D

very cool picture ! my camera battery goes dead before i can get a single picture anything near as stunning as that . very good timming with a touch of luck !

I was determined to get him! took about 20 quick shot trying to follow him and keep him it focus, which is hard, as he swims very fast while spreading his fins, out of 20 or so shots all were blured to some degree, but one! :).
So yes luck, i tried to predict were he would be, and with alot of luck on the timing ....got him!
