Hello Everyone,
Here's a shot of my first Anemone/Carpet Anemone. Hes been in my tank for two days now and I was wondering if he looks ok. He's nice and big untill I feed my fish or put Phyto-Feast in my tank. when I do this he shrinks up for about 1hour. Is the normal?? Also he has'nt eatin anything yet. I've tryed to find info on the net but was'nt much help.

Three of the best indicators of health: attached (or not), mouth, and color are lacking in that pic. As far as shrinking, that isn't abnormal while it acclimates which can take at least a week.

His foot has been under the rock in the sand, So I can't say it's attached for sure. Maybe this picture will be more hlep...

Looks pretty good to me for just going in the tank. Hopefully it has attached, that's a good sign. Though the mouth isn't tightly closed, as it acclimates that will likely correct itself.

The mouth is gaping, check your water params and try and get them as close to perfect/stable as you can and then hope for the best.

Well I thought it would be best to take the carpet back and trade him in for a Long-tentacled anemone. Me, my clowns and the anemone are a lot more happy. He foot is attached and he looks happy. Thought I would post a picture...

is its mouth perpetually open? if so, that's not a good thing bc it's most likely still stressed. However, if it's only open for like an hour or so, then it's probably just pooping.
