Carpet Anemone Minimum Tank Size?

Would a 25 gallon or 29 gallon tank be big enough for a carpet anemone (Gig) and two Osc clownfish? I'm not worried about filtration as it will be plumbed into my 300+ gallon system. I'm looking to make a clown/carpet specimen tank since the carpet can't go in my main tank. Thanks.

Plumbing it into the bigger tank would allow it to work for a short period of time with a small gig. However, the gig would outgrow the tank very quickly and would need a bigger home. I have a gig in a 40 breeder (plumbed to larger system) and after 6 months I am already starting to make plans for a bigger tank due to the nem's growth.

Gotcha. Yeah my next question was going to be would it fit in a 40 gallon as I think I could probably fit a 40 gallon at the most. Do you have anything else in the tank taking up space? I don't plan on having any rock or sand. Maybe one rock and a little sand for the anemone.

Do you think a 40 is big enough if it has no rock, etc?

I would still keep rock in a 40 breeder (better option than 40 long) so that the nem has options for placement. And rock isn't going to adversely affect the space available to the nem. Assuming proper lighting and flow the 40 breeder should work for a good long time if you start with a reasonable size gig. Just make sure not to use many supplemental feedings to keep it from growing too fast.

Anemone will do fine with no feeding or minimal feeding. If you can control yourself, stick to not feeding him, and start out with a small anemone, you can keep him in a 40 g tank.
I keep my Magnifica in a 20X18X20 inch cube for several years, no problem.
I had my Blue Haddoni in my 24 g Aquapod for 3 years with no problem. I just recently move that Blue Haddoni to my 360 tank, and sold the 24 g cube.
The key here is feed sparingly to keep them from growing. Given good light and water condition, they will do fine. If you don't give them the raw material and the energy, they will do minimal growing if any. Plenty of us have anemone shrinking from not feeding, but they are fine and have no problem.

I have mine in a 29 G tank due to tank issues with my old tank. I would not suggest this. The pure logistics of keeping this anemone alive is just insane. Please don't do it.

Sounds like a 40 gallon should be fine. Also keep in mind my total water volume is over 500 gallons. Just not putting it in the main tank so it won't eat the fish in there.
