Carpet Anemone Question

Hey guys, does a carpet anemone need a lot of light? Can it survive in just T5s? I have one in a frag tank on a 20" T5 set up and it's one actinics and one daylight bulb and the depth is 12 inches. It's looking a lil translucent and it doesn't hold on to the rock tight and moves around constantly. Let me know what you think? Does it need MH? Thanks.

T-5's at that depth should be sufficient for any anemone species you would want to keep. Having said that, you don't mention the wattage or number of bulbs or how old the bulbs are--all factors in successfully using T-5's.

O sorry. Um it's the coralife 24" fixture with 2 bulbs one actinics/one daylight. It's 14W bulbs I believe. I'm not sure how old the light bulbs are since i bought it used so I'm thinking about getting new bulbs soon. What bulbs do you recommend? Can i do all actinics or do i need some daylight also.
Here's a link of what the lights look like:

I think it's the haddoni according to the seller. here's the 2 actual posts and now it's translucent/transparent.

That is not enough light and thats not even a high output fixture. I suggest finding a new home with sufficient lighting or upgrade your lights on your frag tank. You can keep a haddoni with pretty much any type of lighting. There just has to be enough of it. Mine has been directly under a 150w hqi for almost 3 years.

I have to agree with Aquareeferman. T5's can be / are as good as Halides providing they are in sufficient wattages. Yours is not I don't think strong enough to keep a Haddoni long term.

O thanks guys. I'll have to find another light asap. I don't want to put it in the display tank because i've had one before and it ate quite a lot of expensive fishies. hehe

14watt 24 inch T-5s? I suppose those must not be HO (high output) which is generally the case with T-5s. If you have a 4 fixture, T-5 HO, you should be fine.
