Carpet Anemone

I've had a carpet Anemone for well over a month and is doing great. I got a BTA Saturday to see if the Clowns will take to it. The carpet has now moved and headed for the BTA. The carpet hadn't moved in 3 week and a day after the BTA was placed in the tank, the carpet is moving across the hole tank and is now 8 inches away climbing the rocks. Does anybody want the carpet? If not, I will see if a lfs wants it. I prefer the BTA. The carpet is white in color.

It may not have had anything to do with the bta being put in the tank. Mine did not move for 2 months then one day decided to move all around. He runs over a lot of my corals and does not hurt anything that i have seen yet. Mine was very close to my bta also but they did not seem to mind one another. <The carpet is about 12 inch across>. It is pretty cool to watch him move around. I am not really sure if they will hurt one another, I see in some fish stores where they are touching and they don’t seem to mind. I could be all wrong; this is just what I have experienced.

How big is the carpet, Blue or green?

Thanks

Mike

The carpet is more white in color and is about 6 to 8 inches across. I went to the Anemone forum and they said they normally don't mix the two. As long as the carpet isn't hurting the BTA I will try. I wish the clowns would take to the BTA. I tried a Ritteri which the clowns took to, but was to much for me and the hardest to take care of.

My clowns host both the bta and the carpet. One also hosts my yellow cup coral sometimes. I would say see what happens. I have read about people putting the food that they feed the clowns on and around the carpet. That can draw them in. All it normally takes is for the clown to accidentally hit the carpet. Then you can not pry them out. :) Good luck... let us know what happens.

Actually, I got home this morning from work and the carpet is on the glass near the top of the tank. Fed both the BTA and Carpet some krill and both ate with no problems.
