Carpet color - where does it come from?

What causes a gig or haddoni to be red, blue, green,...
Is it just the Symbodium species or strain or is it an actual property of the anemone.

In the first case, would it be possible to change the color of an anemone, let's say from brown/tan to blue?

Not too much change yet. Got a bit more brown and a lot more yellow/green under actinic light. Maybe I need to reduce the light a bit and cut down the daily feedings.

Well, as I understand it the colors are actually the anemone's sun block to prevent them of getting burned by the sun. The actual color seems to be genetic.
