carpet vs. crab

I finally caught the gorilla crab!!! small pink, hairy and black claws? I know my S. haddoni carpet, about 12" across, ate an emerald crab the first nite I put it in the tank but not sure if I can give him the gorilla crab. The crab is about the size of a dime. If I am corect on the crab type I do not want it in my tank.
