Hey all,

I just had a quick question. I just hooked up my new cascade 1500 up to my tank, and it blows out alot of small air bubbles into my tank about every 5 seconds and has been doing it for the past hour, is this common or did i do something wrong?

Thanks,
Dustin

nevermind, i think that all the air traped in the filters had depleted. Its only doing it every min or so.

thanks :-) There is a huge difference since i have plumbed the canister filter into my tank. The water is sooo clear, and tomarrow i am going to test the paremeters to see how well it is actually doing!

Be sure and keep the filter media in that canister cleaned weekly. They can become nitrate factories if not kept up with. Canisters are really only good for running carbon in, and emergency clean up for a reef. Great for fish only tanks, but not so good for the reef.

well, my phosphates were kinda high, and i got some phosban that i added in there, and i have some carbon and then the two filter screens in as well, leaving one tray empty.

How often should i change the carbon?

I would suggest removing the filter screens. I don't use a canister for my carbon, but i change my carbon out monthly.
