Castle Grayskull Theme 240 gallon Basement in Wall Ghetto Build

Thanks. I did a little bit of mudding last night. Still a long way to go.

I have no idea about the spider. Never saw anything like it before.

Just talked to the contractor and gave the green light to dig the walk out basement.

Once the door is cut the tank can go down stairs. I'm guessing a month...maybe a little more. Hopefully by then I'll have the drywall done and the ready for tile.

Commonly called the marbled spider, this species belongs to one of several genera of orb or orb weaver spiders that frequently are found as adults on or around houses and other buildings from late summer to fall. Adult female marbled spiders are 9-18mm long; some other orb spiders are smaller and some larger. Most species live one year, but some survive longer. Orb spiders are not aggressive and, like the vast majority of spiders, are not dangerous to people. Bites are rare and usually are no worse than a bee or wasp sting.

Nothing exciting yet.

I asked the lady at Menards to whip me up some Grayskull Green color.

Kidding, this is just tinted primer.

I never drywalled before. Primering the walls was more of an experiment. Just wanted to see what I can get away with. Compared to painting a car you can get away with murder and it still looks good. We'll see tomorrow once the paint dries. I'll probably be super ****ed. Tonight though, Im happy.

Fish picture to keep the build around fish and not rebuilding my house.

I usually dont name my fish, but thought it would be funny to name the fish characters from Heman. So starting tonight this maroon clown is Orko. A little history behind Orko. I picked him up at a local petsmart (dont usually shop there) for fifteen bucks. Orko had a mismarking on his tail and thought he was cool. He's about four or five years old now. He was a baby in the photo. This is the nastiest fish I've ever owned. You cant stick your hand in the tank with out getting bit. When the tank move happens Mr. Orko is going into the Mantis tank. I dont wish him death, its just theres a Tomato Clown in the Manits tank that will be taking Orko's place.

The walk out basement got pushed back to December 15th. No dig out, no fish tank:mad:, no carpet:mad:, no painting the other room:mad:, no good:mad::mad::mad:.

Delays suck. With the weather we have had hear lately you would think everyone would be pushing to get it done before the snow flies. Do you think you will end up with a sore neck with your TV up that high? I mounted my kids tv's on the wall and they made me lower them so I am a little curious, I assume it will depend on your seating arrangement. Their rooms are pretty small so they were pretty close to the TV.

This guy doesnt seem to care about the weather so much. With the economy the way it is you'd think people would be more eager to work. I called three people for estimates before anyone even showed up to look at the property. This guy was really good up until he got our business.

My t.v. upstairs is mounted the same way, maybe even taller. It took a little getting used to, but its not bad. Knowing my soon to be two year old cant put his grubby hands on it is worth the peace of mind. The basement room is 27 feet long, so there is plent of room.

Heres a bit a sneak peek.

This is my first Castle Grayskull attempt. The castle that I'll use in the display tank is still curing. Overall Im real happy with the effect of lighting. I hope its the same in the big tank. The castle will hopefully be more natural with some algae growth.

The mantis already dug out a hole out the skulls mouth. Pretty damn cool!
