Catalina Lighting???

This was a thread on ebay and im wondering if i should buy it...

CATALINA LIGHTING

It looks good... the picture on the top isnt it...
I've seen/heard on threads about how catalina is horrible and they ship bad products... but this isnt really coming straight from them. I dont know, what do you guys think?

You get what you pay for. Inferior parts on them. Have a 36" 192w pc. & a 10" 26w pc. Plastic endcaps on both lights disintegrates after 6 months of use. They didn't charge me on the 36" light to replace, But did charge me $10 to replace on 10". 36" light has 2 fans installed...very cheap fans....1 failed at 7 months, & other was in process of failing before I replaced whole unit with nova extreme pro T5. Modified the 10" fan by adding to 40mm fans too, & now its an awesome fuge light that does not get hot at all.

I would compare catalina lights to odyssea. Low cost & average to low quality.

well i was also considering some pricier lighting.. called Constellation... its about 1200 bucks including bulbs (T5 lighting keep in mind)... it has 14- 39watt bulbs... which doesnt have as high of an output as the catalina lighting..what do you guys think?

My Honest Advice Buy a Nova Extreme Unit long enough for your tank Or if you have money to play with a Giesman!

The Aquactinics Constellation is a beautiful fixture. Very quiet, very well built, and very good individual reflectors. I have one, and I prefer it to my other tank with 2x150W MH lighting. Ask The Grim Reefer for advice regarding bulbs. My honest advice, stay as far away from a Nova Extreme as possible.
