Catastrophe avoided

I first want to start off by saying thanks to ABC reefs in Syracuse for helping me out yesterday.
So I get a call from the house at 11:30 PM Friday night while I'm having some cocktails at the bar. "Your tank is leaking!" At first I thought I was getting my you know what broken but I got home and yup, it was leaking. It was gushing actually out of one of the back corners on the bottom. So my drunk *** had to act quick (buzz kill). I have a 75 gallon sump with a 75 gallon tank. Man I'm I happy I built such a big sump.
I broke the tank down in record time and shoved everything in the sump, fish and all. After another drink and a zanax I got some sleep.
The tank I bought was a 75 Gallon Deep Blue from ABC about 8 months ago. Luckily it is under warranty and they had one. I shot there and swapped the tanks yesterday morning, brought it back to Utica and began the rebuild. Finally have everything in the new tank and everything looks happy, so far. Still making some adjustments but I never thought I would be able to avoid such a possible disaster. I didn't lose anything, not a coral or fish. Crazy! What a crazy weekend. I can finally enjoy the weekend, oh wait it's Sunday night.

Its never easy and never cheap. But for some reason so many stay. It has to be an addiction. Glad it all worked out.

Dosinglalcohol ,particularly vodka , can do wonders.:) Glad it worked out for you.

Yikes. I've been looking at water sensors to tie into my reefkeeper for this type of catastrophic.

Sorry to hear it happened, fortunately you were able to save the inhabitants!

glad you caught it and had stuff on hand so you could act fast!
When i got home from work a little over a year ago and saw my 120 tank minus 40 gallons i crapped my pants and the mad scramble started!! I did not have things on hand thought and lost most my fish and a few corals!
Least you got a new tank :-) I guess a 7 month old tank is still new too though!
