Catching a pistol shrimp

I have a 20 gallon long with a pistol shrimp in there. I have aiptasia growing in my tank and wanted to get some peppermint shrimp. Will the pistol shrimp kill the peppermint shrimp or should I remove the pistol shrimp? If I need to remove him how do I go about catching him?

Nope you'll be fine. Pistols live in the sandbed, peppermints in the rockwork. Also pistols shrimps arnt that aggresive at all, i think cleaners and peppermints are much worse.

I agree with Javeo...

When I had a pistol in my main display the only thing he really messed with was a feather duster.

I now have him in 2.5g mini reef...I caught him by removing all rock work, but I was also removing a Six Line Wrasse and Sally Lightfoot.

My bullseye pistol just killed my cleaner shrimp today, and I watched him climb up the rocks to get at the cleaner. I'm not looking forward to having to take all the rocks out to catch him, as just a few weeks ago I removed him from a different tank to put in this one. I was surprised my pistol killed it because it seemed a decent sized cleaner (a little over 1").
