Catching a red mithrax crab

So I have been trying to catch him for about 2 weeks. The first couple of days I tried a highball glass on a rock. He never got near it. The next week I used a home made crab pot (water bottle trab) in which he showed no intrest. I baited with a thawed uncooked piece of shrimp. It did catch a par of whelks though which were nice to get rid of.
I was trying very hard since I thought it was a gorilla crab. I have heard Red Mithrax are less aggressive, but this guy is the size of a quarter so even though he seems content picking at the underside of a rock I can't move I think he needs to go. He is a little to quick to grab physically.

Tips and tricks on catching him? If people think he doesn't really need to go I am open to opinions there too.

Never had issues with red mithrax. I caught several of mine on accident while baiting a mantis with bottle trap method. If your determined to get rid of him that's probably the best method. They are great algae eaters, you could probably find someone fairly quickly willing to take him in.
