catching damsels

I heard using a water bottle is the way to catch damsels. What size wate bottle and how much of the top do I cut off?

This only catches snails and crabs for me. But like a plastic 20oz coke bottle. Cut the open end about 3 inches down then reverse the top. Cut hole larger enough for him to enter and add some bait. This may work.
This is a big mean fish in a little body.

when I did it I just cut the end off right before it's the full size of the bottle, place the food in and be ready when they are at the back of the bottle cover the end with a net. I caught a 4 of mine in 30minutes after having the four bastards run my tank for a few years.

Cut off the end the you drink from anbout 3 inches below so whene you turn around it slides in snug. The the part you drick from needs to be large enough for the fish to enter.
