Caught by my carpet

OrionN

Moved on
I am moving one of my aquarium system. I got everybody in a small holding tank right now. During all of this ruckus, my Powder Blue tang got tangle with my Haddoni carpet. I am surprise that he got free and still live. This happened this AM.
Right now the tang seem comfortable, not breathing hard. I hope he will still live in the morning. The tang and the carpet have been together for at least 5 years. I would be very sad if he died over night.

Today just now

I just feed tha tank, he ate. I think this is a good sign. If he live, this got to be the first fish that I know off that got the whole side touched a Haddoni anemone and live to tell about it.

Hoping for a full recovery, they are such a beautiful fish. I lost a few fish to my blue haddoni before passing it along.

wow, he looks terrible. I think also its a good sign hes eating, hopefully he recovers. he'll definitely have bragging rights if he makes it.

Oh my... Looks awfull! Let's hope that the sting wasn't too bad.
I just lost a cleaner wrasse and a puellaris goby to a haddoni. Both were new fish. I have 4 haddonis now, so it's just a matter of time until someone wonders too close.

Thanks everybody. He really looks OK. I think he will pull through. I will post an update tomorrow. That Haddoni anemone already ate two Copper Banded Butterflies already in the 5 years that I had him.

Amazed he was able to get away from the carpet on his own. Hope he makes it good thing he is eating though.

He had problem with swimming and get blow around by the current (VorTech MP10). I put him in a basket to keep him from getting blow to the anemone again, but he was dead when I got up this AM.

Ouch are you going to quarantine the tang or just let him be?

Any pictures of your nem?
He started to have problem with swimming. I don't have another tank where I can put him, net even a sump (moving the whole system) so I put him in a basket but he died this AM.
Here is a picture of my holding tank and of the huge carpet that is very PO right now. I don't have sand in this tank other than a small container for my Leopard wrasse to hide and sleep in.
It took my a heck of a time to catch my wrasse. Lucky I was able to scooping him up accidentally when I remove the sand.

Lesson learned. Keep the carpet separately when moving tank or else your prized fish may be loss. Normally, the tang is a lot smarter than that, but with the stress of the move and the confined space in the holding tank....
He did not have a chance with the carpet in the confined strange space.
RIP :(
