Caught my Mandarin eating Thera-A!

I have two Green Mandarins Male /Female. The Female has been doing great she will eat frozen Nutramar Ova. The Male on the other hand is very skinny and won't come near the frozen.
Lately, they have been spawning at night. Still very concerned about the male.

Today I caught him trying to eat a large pellet (3mm)of Thera-A:bounce1:
I put in several 1mm pellets in. I witnessed him eat a half dozen or more!

I have the Thera-A 1mm and 0.5mm in my Automatic feeder. I guess he finally got hungry enough to eat..

105 Gal with a 10 gal refugium and 20 gal sump.

All of them like pellets and frozen IF they can get them with competitors around.

I'm with Steve, mine even tries to eat jumbo mysis if he can get to it.

Yes there are pods in the tank, But I am sure not enough.
I placed an order from Reefs 2 go, over 6 months ago. The sent two mandarins, I only ordered one.

I have just heard the nightmares of people trying to get their mandarin's to eat frozen or pellet. I am just happy I no longer have to rely on pods. Every pellet he eats is just that many pods that are left behind for later!
