caught the mantis that was eating my hermits

I got him. It was pretty easy set up a ten gallon tank and flushed his hole with fresh water. He did not stay put long dropped right out and is swiming around now. what should i feed him he is only an inch long and very dark in color. how fast do they grow? I am thinking of setting up a refugium with plants and soil for my 55 gallon, do you think he would be happy in a setup like that. He was in the live rock that came from aquarium art in bakersfield calif. What water conditions do they preffer?

mantis are pretty hardy...can live in poor condition i guess

I have on in my reefugium he is happy as can be and actually makes your reefugium worth looking at!
