Caulerpa Prolifera

I collected some C. prolifera and have noticed some very rapid growth from the original blades or leafs. About 5 new blades(1 inch long each) on the 4 original blades. I have only had this about 1 week. Is this normal growth?

Yep, its very typical growth for this species when plants are placed into new environments. Its actually a diagnostic difference between C. prolifera and C. brachypus, other than size and serrations for C. brachypus.

Does C. prolifera need to plant its roots into sand, or can it grasp onto rock as well?

Prolifera will grasp rocks.
