CB discoloration

Our tank is newly cycled ( one month ) we cycled with the coral beauty in the tank and she seemed happy and healthy the whole time, even developed more vivid color and overall healthier look than when we got her. However as the cycle came to an end she has developed two discoloration spots on both sides of her head. Has anyone experienced this and should I be worried?

For one you messed up with cycling the tank with a fish in it. It could have ammonia burns. It could be a number of things. Just remember, by you this, cycling with a fish and not quarantining, you may have to start all over. It could be brook, velvet, or uronema. it is not advise to treat the DT. Good Luck! and yes you should be worried.

it doesn't look like brook or velvet.. possibly uronema. There are some treatments, CP(chloroquine phosphate) or formalin dip can work, high quality conditions should prevent them from being attacked by it though. (it's a parasite). verify your water parameters are all normal(ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, ph), calibrate your refactometer and verify salinity is within range.. high nitrate isn't harmful to saltwater fish till it hits like 300ppm.. so, that shouldn't be aproblem, but if it's really high it might indicate other water quality problems.
