I have a CBB that eats anything except pellets. But this fish seems to be hungry all the time, everytime he sees me he comes up to the surface and beggs for food like a hungry dog. So guys who have CBB, does yours act like this too or am I not feeding this fish enough. I feed him atleast 3 times a day somedays once. He eats rods food, home made food and black worms and he has a Tommni Tangs and small Hippo in a 100g tank.

I've tried probably 5-6 specimens over the last 16 months with the longest living about 3 months. You are one of the fortunate ones. Now send him to me when he maxes in size to help with my aip. problem.

Mine acts the exact same way except the only thing he'll touch is frozen or freeze dried mysis and i'm constantly paranoid that he isn't eating enough because he appears a little on the skinny side and seems to just always be waiting for food. I think it's just part of this fish's personality. I mean we can only feed as much as we can. Something I have thought about doing is building a little feeder out of a pvc cap with a hole drilled in it. Basically it would be something that could sit on the bottom of the tank that only the CBB could fit his mouth in to get it and that way he would have a constant supply of food. I'll try and post pictures in a bit.
My Copperband is always begging for food as well. He'll usually notice me about 20ft away from the tank and start swimming around at the front glass waiting to be fed. I know I feed him more than enough but his behavior never changes.
It only eats mysis and brine shrimp, but sometimes i see he finds some red worms in the rockwork to gobble up.

mine was fat and love eating mysis... it died few days ago (well MIA for 2-3 days so probably dead)... I'm real sad about this... dont understand why..
I had it for about 6months now, got plenty of coperpods in the tank and as I said it was eating mysis real good :sad2:

I have had my copperband for 11 months now and he acts the same way as yours. I have even thawed more mysis to see if he actually ate enough from the first feeding and he just looked at the mysis the second time around. Mine has never taken anything other than mysis, with a strong preference for pe over hikari. He stares at pellets and flake, but never actually eats them.

My CBB is always hungry, too. When he sees me come into the room, he makes a dash for the front of the tank and he twitches and shakes in anticipation of food. He eats frozen mysis and live black worms, both of which are fortified with Selcon. I feed at least twice a day, and the rest of the time he grazes the rock work looking for more.

Yes the cbb is always hungry. Mine accepted frozen from the start. People told me i was lucky, however when i bought 2 mandarins they to0 accepted frozen? (mandarins and cbb were said to be hard to wean to frozen). What are the odds.
CBB looks skinny due to its physical proportion. Mine begs for food everytime he sees me walk by.
I feed 2x a day with mysis/selcon. Very pretty fish, for aiptasia control.

Mine begs for food and is a fat butterfly to boot! She will mostly only eat PE Mysis and live blackworms, turns her nose up at almost everything else. Does like small aiptasia. I had some frag disks that got aiptasia in them in my growout trough and I moved them to the main tank where she picked them clean. Maybe the small ones are sweeter or something. I have occassionally given her a very skinny eathworm if I find one outside. They know just what to do with those!

The timing is suspicious for cyanide poisoning. Form what I understand, their livers can be damaged during collection, however the full deterioration does not occur until 6 months out or so after collection. Certainly very sensitive but beautiful fish.

how to confirm that a CCB has not been collect with cyanide?
I don't think you can tell just by looking. Best bet is to get it from a reputable place.
Are CBBs likely to nip/eat clams?
