CBB how big of a risk?

Mines was a model citizen (besides taking out the mini-fan worms) and didn't touch zoas, lps, sps, and the one clam I had.

It was kinda picky. Only frozen food, freeze dried mysi and live blackworms - no flakes or pellets. It did well for two years and doubled it size. Unfortunately one day, I found it dead, stuck to my powerhead :-(

Mine loved the taste of acans. Only had him in my main display for a few weeks and I couldn't handle my acans closed up all of the time, so I sent him packing...

Funny, because my feeling is that CB's in particular are one of the species that benefit most from quarantine. This is because most come in either not eating at all or just picking. Consequently, they're thin and weak...just what you DON'T want to introduce into a reeftank full of fat, healthy and established fish. I understand that your CB is already eating but you can't go wrong in giving it a few weeks in QT to rebuild it's strength and fat reserves. That way, even if your DT's 'welcoming committee' (we all have one) harasses it for awhile, it's chances of survival are increased much more.

I agree wholeheartedly. My QT was a different sort of QT. A small tank with some live rock, and a few teaser corals to see what he would do. It was much easier to teach this timid fish to accept some prepared foods, without my tangs and other pigs in the display swimming around like maniacs. Obviously if I'd needed to treat for a disease, I'd have had to use a traditional QT, but I do think the quiet time is very beneficial for this fish.

++++++ on black worm if you have a CBB.

I had mine for over 2+ years now, healthy and fat. Loves Blackworms. also eats frozen mysis and food mix. As far as corals mine left all my SPS and softies alone. Not sure if he eats LPS since i don't have none in my tank. He also destroyed all pest anemone and feather duster. Left my clam alone though.
