Well my coral banded shrimp has gone rogue on me.. About a month ago I had one fish disappear (my female banggi cardinal) Today I caught him with my new female lyretail. Unfortunately I was too late to save her :( Safe to say he is now in the QT by himself. He has been in there for about 2 years now so must have gotten big enough to 'take on' the fish. No more CBS for me... Pretty but not worth losing $100 of fish over.

On the upside the clowns both went and hosted in the new anemone while I was catching the CBS.

Mine never bothered the fish, but did eat all the arms off a large brittle star. The star did recover in the sump.

I thought crabs, shrimp, lobsters are opportunistic scavengers more than they are predators?

As long as they get enough to eat, they should be ok?

I'd argue there was a problem with the fish. Besides keeping many over the decades with in all my tanks and not having problems Coral Banded Shrimp are very weak animals and I don't see them being able to hang on to a healthy fish.
