CCP's 2000 gallon Deltec reef tank

Its a bit sad when these monster builds spark a lot interest and then just die out. We ge to see the planning, the building and the finished product but then when it comes to regular updates after nothing. Really sad.

I know CCP moved offices a year or so ago (I play their MMO) so I would have to wonder about the fate of that tank.

Too long since last update but today I just received the shipment of my new LED lights from Orphek. It's called the Atlantik Pendant 300 and 8 of these will hopefully replace my 8x400MH and 15xT5 bulbs from the tank taking the power usage from 4000W to under 2000W.

I think it will be interesting to see the before and after so I will document and post here when I start :)

There is info on the lights on this website: https://orphek.com/atlantik-pendant-300/

"The primary design goal was for commercial installs, zoos and public aquariums. Utilizing state of the art components combined with Orphek's ability to target the exact spectrum that photosynthetic creatures require, the ATP300 delivers significant light penetration and plenty of coverage which allows for direct 1 to 1 replacement of larger, inefficient lighting systems such as 1000 watt metal halides."

Resurrection!

Cool light choice, I've been reading on those pendants for a bigger project I'm working on. They look nice!

Here are some new pictures. I recently did a big cleanup and broke down some large corals that had grown up to the surface and were casting shadows so some have been reset.

I took these to see the 'before' pictures when I finish installing the new LED's. I will do closeups soon after ;)

Very nice. The clean up looks great.

I cant wait to see those lights and compare before and after, too. Major power difference should help out quite a bit.

Here are a few more from today. I took out two MH's, 6 T5's and attached the new lights to the aluminum frame that was used for the old lights.
