Cerith Snail question

Can these snails be kept in a tank without a sand bed?
Will they survive with nothing but live rock rubble to hide in?

Some would, and some wouldn't do too well. The rule of thumb is that the white ceriths need a sand bed, the darker colored ones don't. Even the darker ones will need some algae and detritus to survive, though.

Thanks. I was looking 2 order the darker ceriths, and there is plenty of algae and detritus for them, that's actually what I wanted them to keep in check as part of my clean up crew
