hi there,
I have a Blue Xenia or Cespitularia spp. which is very nice, has some blueish / pinkish coloration all over EXCEPT on one of the stalks, where near the live rock where it attaches has a medium size white patch ( like expeled all colour ( prob all zooxanthele ? ) and has a thin streak ( white as well , pure white ) that goes vertically on the stalk and seems to be growing.
Now coral is placed on top of the tank, "perks" up when light is on, got 110w of 50/50 lights, 8 hours per day, coral seems SUPER healthy, really beautifull but that white patch is worrying me.
I didnt notice if he had when I put in ( coral was bought a week ago ) to be honest neither did I did any dip.
Tank specs are :
Red Sea Max 130D
Coral is placed up high in a medium / soft flow current wise
Amonia : 0
No2 : 0
No3 : 10ppm
Calcium 520 ppm
ph : 8.01
Salinity : 1.024
Temperature : 25.5c stable ( chiller )
Is this common on these corals ? Should I be worried ? Can be diease and its better to cut the coral ( its 1 of 3 big independent stalks but they are in the same rock )
Ideas ?
