chaetamorpha care

So I have some cheata I just got, and seems pretty easy to care for. I searched the net and have not found anything too informative on care for(bc its so easy?) Are there are tips for care or things I may have over looked? At the moment I have it in my display tank, till I finish my sump. 2x 150w MH and 2 130w PC Actinic for lighting.

Mine collects a bunch of crud. When doing my wc I swoosh it around in the dirty water bucket to rid it. Other than that trim it every once in a while, and it takes care of itself.

It needs to be moved around to keep free of detritus and to get maximum benefit from your light. Red algae will also form where the flow is low. It tends to be very easy to care for, but will get "stringy," as in bits will break off and flow around your sump and sometimes colonize. Some people arrange pumps in a laarge enough refuge area such that it can bob and tumble around. Neat stuff.

so should my mh and PC actinic take care of it since its in my display atm?

2x 150w 14000k Phoenix bulbs
and 2x 130w 420/460

thanks,
Ser

My guess is you'd have tons of growth with those lights; the question may end up being figuring out how to get it all out of there once you want to move it, assuming it's going to be there for several weeks.

Well, if it stays all clumped-up in a ball, as it tends to, no problem- but strands break off, little pieces get caught here and there, and it can take off in your tank.
