Chaeto + Skimmer Pump

i recently moved my chaeto out of my fuge and into my sump to allow more room for it to grow. im assuming i have to watch out that my skimmer pump doesnt suck it up? anyone have ideas how to separate the two in an alreayd running sump/fuge? would i be better off moving the pump to the return end of my sump/fuge which owuld be 3 feet away from the skimmer? should i just leave everything alone? someone please help. im really not sure what to do at all.

Others have had problems with chaeto and pumps. It gets into the pumps and since it is so tough, it doesn't get chopped to bits and passed through. Eventually your pump slows down and stops because of all the chaeto. You can use the foam prefilters (Mag pumps come with them) or as you suggested, move your pump. I would move the pump since I wouldn't clean the foam filter often enough.
