I run it in my DT under some rocks, it usually is "full" ans waves in the current but today it looks like it is dying and deflated. All params check good, sal 1.023, alk 8,ph 8.2. Also my RBTA has retracted, weird. I'm prepping for a water change but any suggestions? Could i totally be out of phosphates?

The cheato should be near the surface so you can rotate and spread out the ball of it. It also should be harvested on a weekly basis by shreading the ends as you remove it. You can also add some iron occasionally to the tank which helps its growth.

Rather then run it under a rock consider these soap dishes --they cost a buck and you can run them near the surface. The contain the algae so you don't have to worry about it clogging things

I prune it back weekly and have ran it in this spot for like a month, b/c i have no refuge so it helps for the pods to multiply. i'll keep my eye on those containers, thanks.
