Chaetodon miliaris with zoas, mushrooms, and Euphyllia

Anyone have experience with the Lemon Butterfly fish?

A few places list it as OK in a reef, others say introduce with caution. I have mushrooms and green palys (which I won't mind if it eats), some zoanthids, hammer, frogspawn, a finger leather, and two sarcos.

no personal experience with this species in an aquarium but it's among a handful of Chaetodonts that I've researched because of it's potential.

This might be worth a shot. I can't imagine Lemon/Milletseed (common in Hawaii') would be more destructive than my Klein's Butterflyfish- which NEVER pesters my LPS but WILL pester anemones and Zoanthids in my aquarium. (No softies here).

I'm interested in hearing what happens if you go for it.

PS: this is the CORRECT way to research a fish. SPECIFIC species. SPECIFIC corals. Compatibility- not a "reef safe" dumb down. Nice!

Thanks Gary,

Glad to hear the Klein's doesn't bother the LPS. It is another on my short list. You wrote that the Klein's pesters your Zoanthids. I would assume not enough for you to get rid of either. Does he just peck at them when he is hungry or just for fun? Not enough to kill them?
