Hi all

does anyone of you ever kept one of these? My LFS has 2 of them in thr store and I was wndering if they are "reef safe". I did not found any information here in the forum about them.

And they look pretty nice imo. :)

Oh well.. thats cool.. so they also have some ch. interruptus and ch. mertensii I do not know which species I should try. Is it possible to add some butterfly with an established Moorish Idol? I do not know how he will react but he was always very easy an calm and has never shown an aggressin.

The moorish idol might give the new additions some flack at first, but it shouldn't extend beyond that. As far the butterfly being reef safe, I haven't seen this species being kept in a reef tank, but I would imagine your SPS would be ignored, and the more likely targets would be zoas, fleshy SPS, clams and feather dusters. You can usually determine the risk of adding a fish by the way it's mouth is designed, and if I were to bet, I would say this guy would probably pose a problem at some point, for at least some of the stuff in your tank. Beautiful fish though, gotta love them butterflies :fish2:

Yeah i am considering if it is worth the risk. I wanted to try a ch. mertensii or a ch. interruptus or like I mentioned in the thread a ch. ocellatus. But there is no information about ch. ocellatus in the internet.

My tank has some SPS, but not many. Most of them are Montiporas.. And I have a big bubble and a small bubble. What do you think, worth a try? :D They are very small in the LFS, like 1.5"-2"
