Chaetodon xanthocephalus availability?

Ever kept one with a saddleback?

Once but it didn't work out. Saddleback was slightly larger and already established and harassed the yellow head. I've found that once established, saddlebacks are often aggressive with any newly introduced butterfly- even larger ones. The saddleback and the yellow head are closely related so it was a disaster waiting to happen. The yellow heads on the other hand haven't proven to be overly aggressive in my experience. It might work if the yellow head was larger and/or in the tank first but you're still taking a risk.

Thanks for the info. Pass. I like my saddleback :)

Will also post some pictures on the new arrivals tomorrow. It will be subpar iPhone 5s pics but it's better than nothing. Not sure I like taptalk very much

Looking forward to subpar photos!

They are floating now, I would take picture while still in the bag but they are pretty small compared to the giant bags they were shipped in and you just see a small blob, I will try again when I release them in the QT

Hope they turn out well.

Did you mention where you got them? I've been close to pulling the trigger on that butterfly before, still may at some point.

Got them from Michael at NYAquatics. Some really don't like him but I have had positive experiences with him.

This might be the most inquisitive fish I have ever owned, very into what I'm doing on the outside of the tank and always "looking" at me if you will. Fish has been in the water for 45 mins...

NYA has a few butterflies I wouldn't mind having, not sure I could keep either of the two alive but if I could would they ever make a conversation piece! (Mejers, Ornate)
