Chalice Bleaching should i cut it off

Hi guys ,

It looks like my chalice is bleaching. It is on the left hand side of the pic, should i cut it off , if so how without taking it out of my tank..is there anything i can do. to stop it from spreading

Nope it will recover pending water levels are correct and stable. Additionally I do best with my chalices in now light which bring out the deep colors within.
 
I have had some die almost to nothing then come right back so its hard to say. I have never cut mine though. May try putting it in a lower light area and maybe dip it.
 
Is that a hollywood stunner? I had one recently that did this and it didn't recover. I'd monitor it and consider cutting off the white part if it spreads.
 
Just changing to white color no exposed skeleton i can see, If I start seeing skeleton what should i do. I dont want it to spread.

I'd check magnesium and alkalinity since either of those being low can make chalices recede or get dead patches. If it starts showing skeleton I'd recommend dipping it in Revive or something along those lines just in case it's an infection, but my guess is it's your magnesium.

i wouldn't cut anything off of it !! it will recover move it to lower light or a shady cave if you have one in your tank . what lights are you running leds t5's metal halides ???? keep us updated .
