chalice growth rate

What is the growth rate of chalices?, they are stupidly expensive so if I dare buying one I would like to know their growth rate, also which of the most exotic ones grow like plate?. I like mummy eye, hybrid watermelon, bubblegum monster.

They grow exponentially. What I mean is the larger the frag, the more growth it will have. It seems like mine double about every 4-6 months. As far as plating, it will grow to whatever shape it sits on. They are great corals but some can be expensive.

they can be painfully slow especially if they are tiny single eyed frags, however as Hens4Fish mentioned the larger the frag the faster they will grow and take-off

the only one that I know of that grows fast for a chalice is the Tyree Bubble Gum Monster, which grows like a weed for a Echinophyllia

Thats what suprised me about the bubble gum monster. They grow so fast, you would think they would be cheaper.

You would think the BGM would go down in price but it really has not. I have seen the Miami Hurricane's price fall but not the BGM? It is a bit strange!

My Miami Hurricane went from 6 eyes to almost 40 in a matter of 6 months. Is this normal for echinophyllia. Would people compare the growth rate of slower growing chalices to maybe encrusting montipora (sunset monti, rainbow monti, etc...) I would like to invest into some nicer high end chalices. At the same time I do not want to buy a piece that will double down in value in a 2 year period...

Miami Hurricane, Hollywood Stunner, and chalices like them are fast growers and will be relatively cheap to buy/sell. If you buy a WWC jellybean it will hold its value for longer but the growth will be slower.
